Retinopathy (retinal changes) is a risk affecting premature babies. The retina is the lining of the inside of the eye, which is responsible for vision, if not fully developed this can result in loss of vision. Premature babies need to be evaluated during their early years for early detection. We volunteer in the nationwide InfantSEE program offering a free-of-charge early childhood eye health screening during a child’s first year. See the InfantSEE web site for more information and call our office to set up an examination.
